Is there a way to fix corrupted Windows files without the software disk?

I got various viruses the messed up my computer. I now cannot access certain Windows features such as Control Panel, Properties, etc. I used Run: sfc/scannow and it said WIndows files had been replaced by unrecognized versions and needed to restore original settings using the Windows disk. I do not have the disk, and I was wondering if there was a way to fix this problem without the disk?

No, you will need a Windows XP disc for sure.

    try this,

    Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore.

    System Restore sould do it.
set it to a date before the problem started.

    hope this helps

there are several programs out there that will repair files to a large degree. But, the most likly scenario is you are going to have to get the disk or buy a new copy. If it is only a corrupted registry and the data is still there, one program may help a great deal.. you can get Avonquest Fixit 8 over the counter retail, or you can go to http://www.avonquest.com and purchase the download version. since your PC is already corrupt, i think the retail "box" version is your best bet.
